Field Notes
What an Experiential Producer Does.
An experiential producer is one accountable partner that owns a live experience end to end: scope, schedule, budget, crew, and the technology that runs it, from the first line to the night it opens.
Most experiential and brand-activation work gets bought as a chain of vendors. A creative shop, a fabricator, a staging company, a staffing agency, and a stack of software that doesn't talk to itself. Each one owns a slice. Nobody owns the whole thing, so when the schedule slips, the seams show and everyone points sideways.
Each one owns a slice. Nobody owns the whole thing, so when the schedule slips, the seams show and everyone points sideways.
The one-producer model puts all of it under one roof. GHXSTSHIP runs four services. Experiential Design & Production, Venue & Site Operations, Tour & Talent Management, and Technology & Systems Engineering, with one accountable crew and one nine-phase production lifecycle, the XPMS 2.6 standard: Discover to Close.
The Build: Experiential Design & Production
The producer builds it. Experiential design and creative direction, scenic fabrication, staging and set, technical production across audio, lighting, video, rigging, and power, and live show calling. One team owns scope, schedule, budget, and how it looks when the doors open.
The Run: Venue & Site Operations
The operations director crews it and runs it. Logistics and load-in, workforce and crew management, vendor coordination and purchasing, health, safety and compliance, and the day-of call. It's a real discipline with its own people, not something bolted onto creative at the end.
The Road: Tour & Talent Management
The tour manager moves the show and the people in it. Routing and advancing, artist relations, travel and settlement, and the run of show, city after city, held to the same standard as the build itself.
The Coordination: Technology & Systems Engineering
The software is how the whole thing stays in sync: ATLVS is the operator console where the estimate, the plan, and the settlement live on one record, COMPVSS runs site and venue operations in the crew's pocket, GVTEWAY is the public interface and marketplace, and LEG3ND holds the standard, the catalog, and the certifications the work is measured against. Some are live today and some are still in build. Around them sit the show technology, integrations, installs, and analytics we specify and implement, so a build stays measurable while it's still moving.
Why It Matters
For brands, promoters, venue operators, and general contractors bringing in a specialist experiential team, it means one partner to hold accountable instead of a dozen, working off a single schedule that everyone can actually see. On time, on budget, and nothing hidden in someone else's inbox.
